The title, "66 Hours to Live," signifies the length of time that Captain Chris Lutyens and his crew stayed ashore between trips to sea. The cycle then repeated itself. Chris and his gang would head for the Continental shelf, approximately 130 miles southeast of Newport, Rhode Island for another four or five day jaunt in pursuit of the elusive lobster.

The story gives the reader a rare look through a very exclusive window that reveals the raw life of a New England fisherman. From boyhood to manhood fulfilling lifelong dreams, the tale is rife with death-defying high adventure. During his quest to be a successful captain, known throughout the industry as a "highliner," Chris attempts to marry, raise a family, and find balance between his uncompromising world at sea and the compassionate life of a husband and father.

Chris's extraordinary voyage in life witnesses moments of extreme sensitivity countered by unrelenting rigidity that is required to manage a successful lobstering operation. Throughout the many unexpected twists and turns in the plot that defines Chris's unconventional lifestyle, he never forgets about his music, and the creativity that is so foreign to the fishing trade.

The incredible journey is fraught with tears of sadness as well as those borne from exhilarating laughter and joy, punctuated by experiences of failure and success. At times, God appears to have forsaken everything that represents even a thread of hope, for no other reason than to teach Chris a bitter lesson.

Chris is presently editing the final draft, and will soon be exploring the world of publishing to add one more feather to his already colorful cap.
